Looking for a new pair of distressed jeans? A dress for that upcoming holiday party? For an incomparable online shopping experience, Sears is sure to please. Founded over 120 years ago, Sears Roebuck & Company began with their famous mail-order catalog, mailing out fancy hats and corsets to women across the country.
Fast-forward to 2009, Sears may not be turning such a high profit on corsets anymore (Thank Goodness!), but now, armed with their superb online catalog, they continue to be a step ahead the rest, selling every echelon of women’s clothing with prices to fit most budgets. And it doesn’t stop there. With their MySears community, a place where customers can share reviews and discuss, in addition to their expansive customer service options, Sears has decidedly earned our “TopTenREVIEWS Gold Award”.
Standout Features
Features
Sears’ website may be intimidatingly huge, but once you’ve navigated your way to their Women’s Clothing section (by clicking on the drop-down menu on the upper-left), you’re instantly swimming in a sea of women’s clothing. And as has been the case with Sears since its inception in 1886, their women’s clothing inventory is vast, offering hundreds of options in each item category, making it a definitive standout feature.
After clicking on the desired item category, for example Dresses, their “Narrow By” search function offers the widest selection of choices we’ve ever come across, ranging from Style, Shape & Drape, Sleeve Length, Material, Construction and more. All other item categories have just as impressive “Narrow By” search features, making it super easy to find exactly what you’re looking for.
Another feature that makes Sears stand out among its competitors is their MyVirtualModel application. This tool allows shoppers to create full body avatars with which to “try on” clothes. Combine that with a wide variety of viewing options, from “zoom” to 360 degree viewing (each viewing option IS dependent on the item) and you can be positive of your purchase before buying.
Specialty size? No problem! Sears offers two well-stocked specialty size sections: Petites and Women’s Plus. Swimsuits, suits, lingerie, jeans, whatever the garment you’re looking for, if you need it larger or smaller, Sears has it. They also sell shoes in both narrow and wide width options.
Not impressed yet? If you’re looking for “above and beyond,” the areas that Sears really shines in is customer service and community. Have a question on an item? Whether chat, email, phone or in-person is your style, Sears has got you covered. Do you like a site with an expansive community section, from user-reviews to message boards? Sears has got it (and more) with their new MySears community.
And last but certainly not least, Sears’ Price Match Plus policy. This exceptional policy guarantees the lowest price on whatever item you’re purchasing, plus giving you 10% of the difference. The policy is good for both in-store or online purchases, and is valid up to 30 days after the original purchase. In times like these, policies such as this are excellent finds indeed.
